What an Adventure!

Daddy kept telling me all week that we were going camping on Friday and I could hardly wait. Finally, Friday arrived and we were all packed up and ready to go.

I was so excited I could barely stand it!

But, first things first, and we had to stop for some icee's.

Our first camp was with the stake fathers' and sons' outing at the Honey Springs Battlefield in Checotah, OK. (Please note the change of clothes resulting from spilled icee during the drive out!)

My Uncle Jeff and cousin Corbin spent the first few days of the trip with us.

Daddy was sure proud of the new camp box he built.

That's of course before it caught some air over the railroad tracks and busted out the back window.

Some duct tape and a roll of plastic later and we were all set to move on.

On Saturday we headed into the Ozark National Forest in western Arkansas.

I sat up front and manned the CB in case we needed to call for help.

We made camp at Shores Lake campground, and I helped build the fire.

And I washed dishes the next morning after breakfast.

We make a great team!

In fact, I not only manned the radio, but also navigated.

Oops Daddy, I think we made a wrong turn! Your turn to get out and lock in the hubs.

We stopped and cut some wood. I told Daddy that we had enough to fill the truck, but he just kept on cutting, and cutting, and cutting.

We went for a swim and camped at, wouldn't you know it, Redding Campground. Daddy said I was the perfect size for sharks and minnows.

Later we roasted hot dogs, but I really didn't see the point since I prefer to eat them cold anyway.

Monday it rained and rained all day.

We took a pit stop at a park to hang the gear up to dry, and because the cruiser broke down.

I played with my animals and on the playground while Daddy worked on the truck.

Monday night we camped at Mt. Nebo State Park, the smaller Nebo in Arkansas, not the bigger one in Utah.

Daddy's dinner...

And my dinner!

Come on Daddy, we need a stockpile of chopped wood to stoke the fire.

What a face!

It's not everyday you get to wake up with a playground 10 feet away from your bed!

I guess all good things must come to an end. Can't wait until next month to do it all over again in the Tetons!
